Two wisdom teeth removed

Today I'm recovering over my dental surgery that happened yesterday morning at The Dental Surgery in The Pacific Medical Centre in Blacktown at 9:30am. I had to get two of my wisdom teeth removed on my right side as it was creating a huge ulser and there was no room for the wisdom teeth. I had been putting up with the ulser and pain all weekend. I was extremely nervous sitting in the chair. I had never been to this surgeon (Dr Lipworth) before so that added to my nervousness even though he has been practicing for 18 years. Lucky my dad was there for moral support.
The most painful part of it all was the three needles he used at the start of the procedure. They hurt so bad that I let out a cry at one point. The Dr then started with the procedure with the dental nurse at the ready. I never thought being awake whilst two people operated on my mouth could be so scary! Hell I was shaking with fright the whole time even though I couldn't feel a thing after the needles. If any of you have to face what I went through I wouldn't recommend a local anesthetic because you are awake the whole time. If you do, just close your eyes or look away which is what I did.
The pain after the procedure didn't really kick in until 1pm after I got up from a small nap. So I took two Nuerofen tablets after I had lunch of yummy fish, mash and peas.
Today I'm going fine but I'm not closing my mouth fully because it's still tender in the back. I'm just glad it doesn't hurt all that much. I'll put up a photo later today of my teeth for you to be grosed out about! lol

Hey Leigh, I read your post about a week ago and I've been meaning to reply. It was quite scary but if it needs to be done it needs to be done. I was watching something the other night about a new relaxing gas that patients can take to reduce the anxiety and nervousness before the dental procedure which is quite a relief for many I'm sure. It's only starting to come into use so look out for that if you can't avoid a trip to the dentist any longer sometime down the track. :)

Day 4- Pisco, Peru

Yesterday we met the people in our tour group and funnily enough the majority are from Australia. :) About half Oz, one Japanese, two English, and one Canadan. The majority of the group are quite young with the oldest going to 55years or there abouts. We also met our tour leader Nicolas who has been doing this profession for about 4 months but has been a guide in other things for 4 years. It{s amazing that he's only 22 years old! Right now we're in Pisco, Peru and relaxing after our bus ride from Lima which was about 4 hours. Our hotel is beautifully furnished and adorned with Peruvian arts and crafts. It's very homely and has a wonderful atmosphere. Before arriving here though, it was hard to believe that such a nice place could be in the midst of very poor neighbourhoods. On our way here we passed two funerals which were street funerals; massive crowds follow a car adorned with flowers and the procession is quite amazing. Music is played and from what I saw the peopl

Peeping Tom Beat It Up in Sydney!

Last Thursday the 21st of June I had the privilege of witnessing an unbelievable night of hard core, funk, hip-hop, rock and alternative music! With a line up that big you'd think I went to a festival to see a multitude of performers. Ironically that is what Peeping Tom is! Mike Patton's Peeping Tom is made up of an eclectic mix of genres, styles and performers which come together to make music that is captivating, experimental and inspiring to the taste of a diverse range of fans (including myself). Patton didn't fail to impress the Sydney audience at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney, Australia. His remarkable vocal range changes, beat-boxing abilities, experimentation, energetic performance and audience participation had everyone including my friend, Elisa and I in awe and excitement the entire time. There is probably nothing that Patton cannot sing which is what I love. Having grabbed the last two tickets from just a hand-full available from Ticketek the day before his per

Welcome baby Gillian!

Tonight my husband and I welcomed our baby girl Gillian Eleonor Dorothy Collins into the world! It was a very unexpected delivery at 12:07am, when doctors confirmed that I needed to undergo an emergency caesarean. I had been in hospital for about two weeks prior to her delivery as I had to be monitored closely for pre eclampsia and gestational diabetes. It was only a matter of time before my health worsened and our baby had to be delivered. It was a concerning time for us, as we weren't prepared for such an early delivery. I was overwhelmed by the amount of support from family and friends who came to visit me whilst I was in hospital. Thank you to my family and friends for being there for me. It was definitely the hardest part of my journey as a mum so far. Gillian was born 10 weeks premature and has to be in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She's doing well and is healthy despite being born early. The doctors and nurses will continue to monitor her over the next
